Welcome to the homepage of Side By Side Linedance Nyköping!
Since the homepage already had visitors from 66 countries there is a great need
of presentation in English. Föreningen Side By Side Linedance Nyköping started in February
2007 and had at the end of the first year 95 members. Side By Side is a member of The Swedish
Dance Sport Federationand and is based in Nyköping, a community about 100 km southwest of Stockholm.
The main goal of this homepage is to spread information to all our members and linedancefriends all over Sweden. We have links to all Linedanceclubs (with homepages) in Sweden and to a number of western stores.If you want to dance with Side By Side there are courses on four different levels.
You can also visit our main event, which is held every year in March, or to our open dances

A Line Dance is a choreographed dance with a repeated sequence of steps
The dance is made up of a number of steps, usually 32 or 64 counts, which the dancer
have to learn all by himself. There is no caller like in Square Dance.
Each dance is said to consist of a number of Walls. The dancers are often changing direction after
a full sequence of steps. He is facing another wall. There is one-, two- and four-wall dances.
You have no partner.There is no physical contact between the dancers. The dancers have to learn all the sequences of steps because there is no caller like in Square Dance.
The music styles are many. You can dance to pop, waltz, latin-american, classic, funk,
country or other kinds of of music.
It’s a healthy activity. Your stress will be reduced, you strengthen your back and bones,
your balance will be better but above all you have a good time and meet a lot of ne friends
